Kathleen Cassidy

Kathleen Cassidy has an impressive career record within Health related areas, having served as a practitioner and as a manager. She is highly experienced in working with clients and carers from a cross-section of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Currently, Kathleen lectures at a University in England and has presented a paper at a UK National Conference. She is a member of a leading national health board based in London.
In addition to this she has also played a crucial role in managing publicity and fundraising to support children in developing countries to achieve education.  

Martin Nthakomwa (Managing Director)

Martin Nthakomwa, the managing director, is an experienced trainer and researcher. Martin played a key role as one of the first researchers for the Audit Commission Area profiles project. He has a successful track record in organising and facilitating workshops in Management, Development and Inter-Cultural issues. These workshops have attracted delegates from Private, Public and Voluntary sectors, including local authorities, police and NHS.

With a remarkable sense of dynamism, Martin has lectured at University level in the United Kingdom. An inspirational entrepreneur, he has successfully managed to integrate his eclectic academic knowledge, managerial and community work experiences in the most proactive way. He is also on the board of an international organisation.

Martin’s project management work won first place in the award competition organised by some leading UK organisations held at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London in 2003. Martin was given an award by MoneyGram International and VSO.

Lynne Mackness

Lynne Mackness has worked in the private, public and voluntary sectors and has considerable experience of consultation, research, funding, project planning and performance management. Her projects include the co-ordination and management of a successful £1.2m multi-agency funding bid, Advice Sector training needs analysis, consultation with older people, Community Legal Services partnership advice gaps and needs analysis.

Lynne has some 15 years experience of working with local government and the voluntary sector and has developed specialist skills and knowledge of grant funding, commissioning voluntary sector services and Service Level Agreements.
 

Dr John Omara

Dr John Omara is an experienced academic and practitioner, currently working as a part-time Clinical teacher at the University of Leicester. He was previously supervisor for Master of Education for Primary Health care at the University of Manchester.

Prior to working in the above capacity, John worked in Zambia as Medical Superintendent, managing a 300 bed referral hospital before moving on to another role as Provincial Medical Officer in Zambia.

John is very active in the local community in Leicester, and is well experienced in issues around culture and health. He is actively involved in projects which aim at improving access to health services.

Petrina South

Petrina South is experienced in Community Development through her work with individuals, communities and also as an adviser in a leading regional employment and training establishment in the East Midlands. A self-motivated and dynamic individual, she has demonstrated exceptional skills and commitment in promoting partnership working between Voluntary and Community Sectors and other stakeholders in Mental Health projects.

Petrina mixes the best qualities of both inspirational manager and practitioner in her approach to Mental Health issues and has had her articles published in the International Journal of Mental Health promotion.

Jankeh Sagnien

Jankeh Sagnien has a passion for Community development and international relations.

She has some experience of African development, having undertaken some research on the African Union, with particular focus on economic development, governance and Human security.

Jankeh has great interest in issues facing the African people and the impact of poverty on the different aspects of their lives
